The short version:

What you post is yours, and it's your responsibility.
Follow the Community Guidelines. Break them and we can remove content, silence, or ban you.
The site is a hobby project provided as-is. Reviews and scores are opinions.
You must be 13 or older to have an account.

1. Who we are

Crit Gaming Reviews ("CGR", "we") is a gaming review and community site at critgamingreviews.com, run independently from the United Kingdom. You can reach us at harry.lidstone@critgamingreviews.com.

2. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Keep your login details to yourself: anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Give us accurate details when you sign up, and one account each, please.

3. Your content

Reviews, comments, forum posts, and anything else you publish on CGR belong to you. By posting, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and share that content on the site. That's what lets us actually show it to other members.

You are responsible for what you post. Don't post anything you don't have the right to post, and don't post anything unlawful. We don't pre-approve content and we don't endorse members' opinions. A member's review is their view, not ours.

4. The rules and moderation

The Community Guidelines are part of these terms, so by agreeing to these terms you're agreeing to those rules too. To keep the site safe we use a mix of automated moderation (posts are checked when submitted, and serious violations are rejected and counted as strikes against the account) and human review of reported content.

We can remove content, silence accounts, or ban accounts at our discretion, with or without notice, where we reasonably believe these terms or the guidelines have been broken. If you think we got it wrong, email us and we'll take a look.

5. Our content and other people's

The CGR name, logo, mascot, site design, and staff-written content belong to us. Game artwork, trailers, and game data belong to their respective publishers and rights holders, and are shown here for review and informational purposes via services like IGDB and YouTube. GIFs are provided by GIPHY. Those services have their own terms.

6. No warranties

CGR is an independently run project provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise the site will always be online, error-free, or that any information on it is accurate (release dates especially: blame the publishers). Scores and reviews are opinions, not professional advice.

7. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for content posted by members, for anything you do in reliance on content found here, or for indirect losses arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales.

8. Ending things

You can stop using CGR at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and content by emailing us. We can suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms.

9. Changes

We may update these terms as the site evolves. The date at the top always tells you when they last changed, and continuing to use CGR after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
